Top 5 Canadian Tourist Destinations

Citizenship and Immigration Canada has recently been encouraging travellers to visit Canada. Find out what there is to see in one of the most multicultural countries in the world!

Niagara Falls

One of the largest waterfalls in the world, Niagara Falls straddles the United States and Canadian border by Lake Erie. The majority of the falls are within Canada and there are many tourist attractions available there. Though there have been a few famous individuals who have survived going over the falls, certainly no one will encourage you to try it yourself! Quebec City

Quebec City

Sitting quietly on the coast of the province of Quebec, the state capital is one of the oldest settlements in America and it retains beautiful architecture based on its French-European counterpart. Be sure to check out the Hotel Du Frontenac located on a bluff above Quebec City.

Bay of Fundy

The Bay of Fundy is home to one of the most impressive maritime phenomena in the world. With the world’s largest tidal range the bay looks much like any other bay at high tide, but when low tide arrives, the water level can drop 50 feet! Scientists believe this to be the result of the shape of the bay and the action of the moon on tides.

The Aurora Borealis

The Northern Lights, also known as Aurora Borealis, is a spectacular meteorological event that occurs when radiation from the sun strikes the Earth’s atmosphere at a particular angle. The resulting effect is an enormous ribbon of light that weaves through the northern sky for thousands of miles. It can get so bright sometimes that you can read by it.

National Parks of Canada

Canada is an extremely large country and much of it is wilderness that has been designated National Parks. Within these huge swaths of untamed country a lucky tourist or camper might be able to get just that much more in touch with nature.
